Below are some tips to make the most out of this community and this site.

Mkae AAREWAH Your Home Page
First and foremost make http://www.aarewah.com as your home page.. This will remind you to checkout AAREWAH every time you open your browser.

Upload Your Picture As Avatar
Upload your picture as your Avatar. Let everyone know what you look like.
In order to upload your Avatar click on My Profile. Then click on the Avatar Button. It will allow you to upload an image as your Avatar. Once Uploaded this Avatar will be displayed any time you post a comment.

Enable Receiving Mail From Administrator
Edit Your Profile and change the setting to enable receiving occassional emails from Administrators. This will keep you informed of the latest on AAREWAH.com

Make your email visible to everyone
Edit Your Profile and check the box that says allow other to see my email. This will ensure that any COEPian trying to reach you will be able to do so.

Enable Notifications
Did you know that you can turn on notifications for any section on this site? Well now you do. All you need to do is check the appropriate notifications that your are interested in and save them.
for example, If you are interested in a particular topic that is being discussed then go to that topic and in the Notification Options select Notify me of new posts in the current thread.. That's it. You will be notified of any new posts on the topic.
It is possible to set such notifications on almost every module of this web site.

Change Your Default Notification Mode
If you are one of those kinds who check their emails regularly then change your notification type to [email] instead of private messaging. You can change this by Editing Your Profile

Add admin and support from AAREWAH in your address book
Add the following email addresses in your email program's address book. admin@aarewah.com and support@aarewah.com. This will ensure that any email from AAREWAH will not be directed to your junk mail folder.

Use Private Messaging
You can send private messages to other members in the AAREWA H community. To do so go to the Inbox from User Menu and then click on the send button. It will popup a window, Select the recipient and send your message.

Tracking your activity
If you don't remember what was the last thing you commented on or what discussion you were following, click on your profile and you should see all the activities that you performed at Aarewah

Also if you like to see all the comments one below the other, like I do, then you can change the setting in your profile.

Edit your profile and for Comment Display Mode select Flat

There is a slight issue with the Search Feature and that is it searches from every module i.e. Forum, Photo Gallery, News etc. but it doesn't search the contents from the mediawiki section of the web site

In order to Search for the contents in the Mediawiki Section click on the Mediawiki link from the main menu and there is a special search button just for the mediawiki section at the bottom of the page. This search button is available on every mediawiki page on the web site.
